In addition to being a key dimension of the urban common, is fundamental in the quest for urban sustainability and social equity. In Sao Paulo, the short-distance food circuits that connect and approximate places of production, storage, distribution and consumption of healthy and natural food, produced without pesticides, help to contain the precarious and informal urban expansion in the peripheries, especially in the water source areas.
